Is there a more overrated program than St Johns.

Would love to see them go get Jamie Dixon. Would have to think he wants to get out of Pitt.

St Johns is making the tournament this year. Lavin isn't going anywhere.

And Pitt isn't by the way.

Problem for Lavin is that he is losing a ton to graduation/eligibility.

Right. Next year might be different. But people are talking like he's a goner. I don't think that's going to happen even after next year.

My point was that STJ has underachieved compared to the hype that Lavin brought when he came on board and he hasn't lived up to that hype. Yes, they are going to the Dance but are midling seed and it is unlikely they make it out of the first weekend.

And yes, I am aware that Pitt is not dancing. But it is known that Dixon was not a fan of the move to the ACC and might be willing to listen to offers from other schools and may in fact like the opportunity to get back to the Big East.

Dixon needs a new challenge, and I believe that he could do really well at St. John's. He has a strong history of recruiting New York area prospects.

He is a CA guy. Suspect he would go West...?

X pulls out the win, that locks them in, I think they were a lock even with a loss, but helps to cement it.

Lavin has definitely underachieved. His recruiting has been good, put a few players into the NBA early, though lost a few due to transfer as well. But the results just haven't been quite there. Two bids in five years, two games over .500 in conference play, while I realize those are results DePaul would kill for, St. John's should geographically be one of the league's top programs. Not sure if Dixon would come, but him or either Hurley would be an upgrade in my opinion.
