"When March Madness spills into April.... that's the gravy!" - Homer Simpson
If the 2nd half of the Cinci game was as bad as the 1st, it could have been much, much worse. Kind of surprised we didn't fall a little bit more than we did. Slam PC and get some help elsewhere and Mu will be back in the rankings.
On the brighter side, MU did move up to #20 (from 21) in this week's official RPI per the NCAA despite the loss.
MU has one game this week, at home against Providence.
If MU get's a W on Saturday there is a chance we move up, but teams in front of us (21-25) don't have a very tough week.
Best chance is ND's loss to G-Town, Miami losing and holding off Wisconsin, San Diego State and UCLA from moving past us.
Ranked teams 20+
21 - Cincy - lost to Syracuse yesterday - no other games this week.
22 - Mizzou - has South Carolina and Vandy
23 - Ole Miss - has Tenn and Auburn
24 - Notre Dame - lost to Georgetown yesterday, has South Florida
25 - Miami - has Duke and FSU
26 - MU - has Providence
27 - Wisconsin - has Mich State and Minn
28 - San Diego State (25th in coaches poll) - has Nevada and New Mexico
UCLA - has Arizona and ASU
Mizzou not looking great against S. Carolina...
So while Mizzou pulls it out NC State coughs one up to Wake... Weird year.
There's a lot of mediocrity in college basketball this year. Also every top team has a significant weakness. This could be one of those years where a low seed, or a mid-major that gets hot, make the F4.
