• Horizon League Power Poll 11.12.12

The second week of the PantherU.com Horizon League Power Poll has been released. Here are the picks:

    1. Valparaiso (8)
    2. Detroit (1)
    3. Green Bay
    4. Youngstown State
    5. Cleveland State
    6. Milwaukee
    7. Wright State
    8. Loyola
    9. UIC

Voting panel: Tom Mieskoski (CSU), Reggie Hall (Detroit), Brian Dickmann (Green Bay), Chris Burrows (Loyola), Josh Griesbach (Milwaukee), Lee Kolodziej (UIC), Hank Curry (Valpo), Charles Grove (WSU), Mitchell Friedman (YSU)

    Fun facts:

    - It only took one week for a team to jump multiple spots. It seems like many people were impressed by Wright State's 80 points in a victory at Idaho, by far the most impressive victory of the three teams at the bottom tier of the conference.

    - Youngstown State volted up to the #4 spot this week, switching places with Cleveland State after the Penguins won on the road at George Washington. The difference between the two? One point.

    - Voters didn't sandbag Milwaukee, the only team to lose this weekend. Could have been because the Panthers were close to beating an SEC team on the road, could have been because the 7th place team has been so far behind the Panthers that it would take quite the dip for anyone in the top 6 to drop to the bottom three.

    - The same voter who picked Detroit first in last week's poll picked them again this week.
