• Spying the Enemy - UALR Trojans

    Game # 4 - UALR Trojans
    November 19th, 2012 - 7 p.m.
    Little Rock, Arkansas

For the second season in a row, the Milwaukee Panthers will take the visit down south to take on the UALR Trojans in their home, the Jack Stephens Center. Milwaukee hopes to come away with another victory. In 2011, the Panthers walked out with a 59-54 victory last season. With a far different roster, the score will likely outpace the tally from last season.

    2011-12 Record: 15-16, 12-4 Sun Belt
    Statsheet RPI: 175
    KenPom: 177

Lead Returnees (Place on team in 2011-12)
PPG: Will Neighbour, 10.5 ppg (2nd)
RPG: Will Neighbour, 5.3 rpg (2nd)
APG: Ben Dillard, 0.8 apg (4th)

Biggest Loss - UALR has a couple pretty large departures that they have to make up for. The biggest of course is D'Andre Williams, the quick little point guard who led the Trojans in scoring and assists per game. Williams was a quick captain in the backcourt, and the Trojans offense will look a lot different as they try to find someone to run the offense after his graduation.

New faces - Much of the scoring could come from Leroy Isler, who averaged 11 points per game in junior college last season and will give the Trojans a strong inside presence at a shorter height.

Style of play - The Trojans are like the Milwaukee of last year - slow down, half-court offense with stifling defense and players that can shoot all over the floor. The player that gave Milwaukee the worst fits last season was Will Neighbour, the 6'10'' British post player with a strong outside shot. The Trojans won games last season by stretching the defense with players that can shoot at every spot on the floor, most specifically Neighbour.

Bottom Line - Last year, both teams were more than happy to play the slow game, with Kaylon Williams and D'Andre Williams having quite the matchup. This season, however, Milwaukee is built to run them down, and UALR is still built to play the short game. Expect the Panthers to win in a game between two teams with lots of roster turnover.
