Junior college point guard Jordan Aaron sent in his National Letter of Intent to the Milwaukee Panthers on Wednesday. Official word on Aaron's final commitment is being held off until the Panthers receive the paperwork.
Aaron verbally committed to Milwaukee in early February to mark the anniversary of his mother's passing. The 5'11" point guard played at Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa until the team's season was canceled in December following an incident with unpaid bookstore merchandise featuring about half of the basketball team. It is unclear whether or not Aaron was involved in that incident, however the college president was satisfied with the response by the players and he did not punish them.
Aaron spent the rest of last season as a manager for the Olney Central CC team in Illinois. Dejan Matic, a former graduate assistant at Milwaukee, is the assistant coach at Olney.
Jordan Aaron was having a pretty great season until it was canceled. The standout was averaging 14.3 per contest, he was shooting 34% from three, and he was averaging four rebounds and 1.6 steals per game over the shortened 16-game season.
Jordan picked Milwaukee over offers from Wichita State, Creighton, Utah State, Iona and Hofstra. He canceled a planned visit to Maryland and was gaining interest from UConn before he committed to the Panthers.
PantherU is currently playing phone tag with Jordan as we try to line up an interview.
