National baseball is a tough sell on TV.

When I was much younger, baseball fans would watch the game of the week to get their fix, because tv games for the local team were more rare. Brewers would go on road trips without a tv crew. Everyone listened to the radio, so radio guys were huge, as was Mel Allen and this week in baseball.

Now most, if not almost all Brewer games are on TV, and they are close to daily, so my baseball fix is covered.
You can tune in ESPN nightly to watch web jems too.

Baseball is not like football or basketball - more games, less star impact.

In baseball your top pitcher plays 1 in 5 games. Your top hitter goes to the plate 4 times in 3 hours. In hoops Lebron has the ball on every possession.

Football is popular because everyone plays fantasy football, so a Dolphin v. Jets game has national appeal, while a Marlin v. Mets game has none.

I love baseball, but I generally just watch the Brewers, unless some epic pitchers duel is being shown.
