Thread: Louisville players go to Porcini too?

I don't think the self-imposed penalty is stiff enough.

Double meaning aside , the penalty is not enough. As a recruiting violation, I would think loss of scholies should be imposed as well.

The self-imposed "penalty" is a joke. This is serious criminal behavior that could result in state felony prosecutions, or, if the women came from across the river, federal criminal prosecution. Considering Dick Pitino's "indiscretion" at Porcini's and his subsequent payment for the cost of "health insurance" you would think he would be looking for new work after being given a pass by the university and this "recruiting" still going on. I guess Louisville will tolerate just about anything as long as the team is winning. They are a disgrace as an institution for the way they have handled these matters. They need a multiple year ban and loss of scholarships. They should be essentially decimated. Louisville's president must be a very weak leader, fearing a public backlash, as he has taken minimal steps to address the problem. College athletics needs the NCAA to take bold action. Based on the NCAA's history with North Carolina, and Duke with the Lance Thomas affair, I doubt they will add on--though there is hope as they stuck it to Whinin' Jimmy Boeheim.

I'll say one thing - Notre Dame joined a cesspool conference in the ACC. They have had so many members over the years commit violations and have headline grabbing off field/ off court incidents. It's all about the money, of course. Just don't get caught and keep quiet criminal incidents, as much as possible.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rick throws in the towel within a week. BTW, he looks terrible - looks more like a vampire that he usually does - he's paler than Mayor Beluga if that is humanly possible.

Caribou calling Hizzoner pale? Well that's the pot calling the kettle pasty white.

The more I think about it, the more this irritates me.

That is a total cop out, same for SMU not that that kid left school.

A ban this year does nothing to hurt the program, it just hurts the kids who are stuck.

The NCAA should say to Louisville (and SMU), thanks, you can do what you want this year, but your post season ban will be next year. That would give kids who did nothing wrong a chance to go elsewhere and not have to suffer the penalty. The penalty to the school this year is nothing, but ban them next year and the year after, ok, now that really impacts recruiting and you will see kids transfer.

A kid at SMU has a coach do his work to get him eligible - coach is gone and the kid left too. But the kids on the team this year are stuck, and don't get post season. Too late for them to transfer anywhere too.
Same at Louisville. Thanks for coming grad transfers who wanted their shot at an NCAA, but we are worried about our future recruits and the future of the program. Sorry to have screwed you guys.

So safe to say that Pitino had no input on the self-imposed ban based on his presser and speaking on behalf of the graduate players?
