    Jamil

@ShamsCharania: Forward Jamil Wilson has agreed on a partially guaranteed deal with the Dallas Mavericks, sources tell RealGM. Second year out of Marquette.

Wow. Good for Jamil. Have to admit I'm surprised.

Played in Pro-Am Saturday, looked very good, he's improved his shot.

That's definitely a positive. Hopefully, the shot selection has improved as well.

Joins Wes Matthews in Dallas, good for Jamil.

Jamil said on Sat that he had a few opportunities and that he thought he would get things wrapped up by the end of the weekend. He was happy to be close to signing and not have it drag on until the beginning of camp.

Happy it looks like it worked out and he will be with Wes. Said he will be back at the proam this Thursday. His shot looked very good.

Hope it all works out for him. One of the more talented and naturally gifted players we've seen at Marquette in a few years. Maybe the light is finally turning on for him.

Great that he got some guaranteed money but he still has to make the team.

    Hopefully he will.

From the article, it seems he effectively signed a D League contract. Last year, he reached a deal with Phoenix and then got waived and sent to Bakersfield. This might be more of the same. Still, $50,000 with a chance to attract some attention and make the big club is not such a bad living. One would think he thinks he has some chance, since he could probably make more overseas.
