The jump shot took a while to catch on. I remember around 1951 there appeared a piece in Sport magazine entitled "Stop, Jump, Shoot Skoog," an article about Whitey Skoog who played first for U of M and then the Monneapolis Lakers. Even then the shot was unusual. None of the other Lakers at the time was shooting it, nor anybody else in the league. Paul Arizen in Philly, I believe, a couple years began burning up the league with it.
