Now I understand they are different types of issues (improper benefits v. academics) but it does make you wonder about priorities. But really, is $8,000 in improper benefits as big a deal as academic fraud meant to keep players eligible?

They were so stupid, they were committing violations during an NCAA investigation. Report really blames Boeheim--didn't follow University drug policies after players tested positive because "they didn't understand the rules". They also had tutors writing papers for athletes and lying about completed community service work for which they received credit. We knew some of this but the report summary is pretty damning.
