This letter referencing the year end December 30th issue and their FAREWELL section - one of 7 letters:

I was shocked to see that you didn't include Dean (the Dream) Meminger, who passed away in August, in your list of farewells. He was a point guard for Al McGuire at Marquette from '68 to '71 and the MVP of the NIT in '70. He also won an NBA title with he Knicks in '73.
