    Portland keeps rolling

Awesome! Good for Wes. Portland had another big win last night over Indiana. Portland now at 15-3 and dropped Indiana to 16-2.

Holy crap....look at Paul George's statline.

Yeah, that is an impressive stat line. Paul George has really become a very good player.

Hoping that if Wes keeps up these improvements, he can be on the radar for the 2016 Olympic roster. They have taken talented role players like Mike Miller and Shane Battier before, and I think that Matthews would be perfect at the back end of the roster.

Olympics might be a push, but considering how Wes is built like a rock and the defense he plays, only makes him that much more valuable given how well he is shooting it.

You know who would be perfect for the Olympics? Steve Novak... He could just sit in the corner and fire away.

I thought the same thing before the last summer Olympics. Novak had just had his breakout year for the Knicks, shooting 47% from beyond the arc. That's usually a weakness for USA teams in those competitions, it seems. Guess they managed okay without him.

More then just a 3 point specialist, you hope to find a 3/D player that can hit open perimeter shots and also guard multiple spots. Wesley Matthews has developed into the best 3/D guy in the NBA, though his overall offensive game has become pretty complete. Jimmy Butler also has excellent 3/D guy potential if he keeps working on his perimeter shot. Shane Battier has had a very lucrative career primarily as a 3/D guy. Every one of our Olympic teams needs at least one of these guys, and I hope that Matthews could be that guy for the Chicago, I mean Rio Olympics (I will permanently be sore about that decision).
