I don't have any sympathy for Time Warner Cable & James Dolan who owns MSG but how in good conscience can NYC on extend their lease 10 years on the pretext that they need the room for Penn Station when MSG just renovated at a cost of $ 1 billion ?

That really isn't NYC's problem. Perhaps they should have extended the lease before ponying up the cash. BTW the vote against extending the lease was 47-1 by the city council. So I get the impression that either the terms that Dolan offered weren't favorable, or that NYC just doesn't care.
