Of all the hires made in D1 ball this year, Tubby Smith to Texas Tech made the least sense to me.

In part, but also because I saw an old and tired coach in Minnesota. He didn't recruit all that well, and it's not as though he was Bob Knight with the Xs and Os. I mean, he never had a winning record in the Big Ten.
I think he's still skating on his reputation from early on in his Kentucky years.
If I'm Texas Tech, I look for a younger, hungry coach who can recruit the hell out of Texas. (Kind of like a Buzz Williams type.)
