Anyone know the history between the two teams? Only game I can remember is Marquette losing to Miami when Tito Horford - future "almost" Milwaukee Buck - was playing for Miami.

Miami didn't have a basketball team between 1971-72 and 1984-85 so they never played when MU was at its peak and they were both independents. I think I read somewhere once that Miami was going to completely de-emphasize athletics...but then the football team started winning in the early 80s and those plans were shelved.
