Q- Temple had an NCAA Game Today Right?

Then, how can they host today's NCAA tourney action at Wells Fargo on the same day? I thought that the NCAA had a rule that host teams do not play on the same day? Did the rule change? Could this possibly impact Marquette next year since we host 2014 NCAA rounds 2-3 in Milwaukee?

One more thing tossed aside for the pod system - they haven't followed that guideline in a couple of years.

Correct, that rule has been gone for at least 5 years.

Yep that rule went out the door with the pod system.

Just one more reason for me to hate the pod system.

    3 games

Rule used to be you couldn't play within 90 miles or your campus. I believe you still can't play on your home court (BC=MU) and home court is defined as playing 3 or games a year at that arena. VU manipulated the rule a few years ago and only scheduled a few games at Wells Fargo so they didn't exceed the 3 and were able to play the regional there I believe.

How about the ncaa lowering ticket prices, you wouldn't need the pod system.

I think they want a noisy crowd in a full arena for the television effects more than anything.

Even with the pod system I have seen many empty seats at games.

Having teams close to home can also result in many empty seats as fans of the team buy up a large percentage of the tickets, but are only interested in seeing the game their team is playing. Tickets sold, environment not so good.

Absolutely right Goo. Cities like Salt Lake are like Scooby Doo ghost towns and, like you said, places like Lexington where Louisville fans bought up all the tickets and didn't care to be there when Louisville wasn't playing.
