While Vander's winning basket today reminds everyone of his shot against St. John's the truth is the only things the same were the design of the play and the outcome. The truth is against St. John's Vander went to the right and shot with his right hand. Today, he went to the left and shot with his left hand. The shots are mirror images. I found that interesting.

The other thing I had been thinking about, was the last time I recall a MU player with two game winning shots the same season - Jimmy Butler against UConn and St. Johns. Those plays had similar design as well.
Today, though, to your point, it looked to me like Davidson expected Blue to go right and overplayed that way. Davante made a nice screen to free Vander, as well.
