    Jt iii = coy

That's disappointing. Otto Porter named POY.

I think it should have been Buzz, but I think, when its that close guys might Vote for people they know better. Jim B Wright, Dixon, and some of the East coast guys might have a better relationship with JT3. He has been in the league quite a while and around the Big East and the East coast a long time.

One could make a case for JTIII. I would respectfully disagree, but I was not asked to vote.

Thompson III is Big East royalty. The advantage goes to heretical heir. It always has.

What I think went in favor of Thompson was that his team was almost left for dead early in the conference slate with an anemic offense, lost Whittington and then turned it around to finish strong. Marquette never lost more than 1 game in a row and was too consistent in the win-loss category to really raise flags.

I wonder if since it was the last year also of the BE some of the coaches felt they wanted to give it to one of the founders rather than a newer school.

JT III was deserving of the award. I just happen to think Buzz deserved it a bit more.

JT3 proved his mettle in the NCAAs again. Wow, G-town comes up awfully short in the Big Dance once again.

There's probably a reason for awarding COY for league play, and not for tournament play.

    And that's a good thing.

Agreed, just commenting on team's poor play in the NCAAs.
