The old adage, teams that "press" don't like to be "pressed" and teams that "zone" don't like to be "zoned" was true on Saturday as Georgetown did with great success. However, Marquette is not used to playing a lot of zone and has different personnel.
I do know Syarcuse will be zoning us for most; if not the entire game so I think Todd Mayo needs to get significant minutes tonight.

Yes, its weird to watch a team play 2-3 zone when its down 10 as Cuse was against G-Town.

Yes, whenever they have been behind in the second half of games (doesn't happen too often) they have played some man-to-man but they will usually play full court press in order to try and catch up..

One positive going into tonight's game, MU is used to playing against zone defenses.
In other years playing against the Syracuse zone was not the norm and could cause trouble. This year MU is used to playing against zone defenses. Doesn't mean we like it, just means we have more experience with zone defense.
