Spoelstra also benefited from the mentorship of Riley when he first started. That same type of environment wouldn't be here in Milwaukee.
There definitely is risk with a first-time head coach. The Bucks need a strong tactician, one that can develop talent and adjust within the course of a game. Quinn has been alongside Spoelstra since 2014, learning the same principles and style that Spoelstra picked up from Riley. The Bucks could also use someone with energy, as it sometimes looked like coach Bud was getting burnt out.
