    Sun-Times Big Ten Basketball Preview

You'll have to answer a couple questions to get to the article.

Is the Big 10 starting their conference schedule earlier than normal - 2-3 Big 10 games then some NC games then back to conference play? Big East is 3 plus weeks away. Maybe they've always done that, but didn't notice.

MSU looked pretty impressive last night. Would be cool to have a home and home with them some year.

They are doing the early games this year only so the regular season can end earlier to accommodate the Big 10 conference tourney at MSG the week before the BE tourney.

Big 10 is starting their season earlier than normal because their conference tournament was moved up a week to allow them to hold it at Madison Square Garden this year (hoping it's a major fail like it was in DC last year). Their regular season was shrunk by a week so they have to play more games in less time.

I understand that this has a negative effect on Bucky since they are very young and inexperienced, except for Happ. They could use more practice time and a spread out schedule to acclimate their younger players and, rather, they have a compressed schedule which means practice is concentrating on game prep. At least that is the current excuse.
