Kind of OT - 13 times S.I. proclaimed a high school athlete the next big thing...

Some booms and busts for sure. Sorry to say I remember all too many of these SI issues.

    - Rick Mount tore out MU's heart in the '69 NCAA's:

    - Tom McMillen was the first cover boy of Letterman Magazine his senior year in high school, not too mention becoming a politician.
    - Those that saw the Boston Marathon last week may have seen Bobby Carpenter pushing his daughter who severely injured her spinal cord in a hockey accident and they finished in 4:32.
    - Saw Garnett in one of his last HS games at UIC - he was being a huge prick to his coach during the game, but certainly not in the bust category.
    - Telfair certainly didn't meet expectations.
    - And everyone knows who Steve Taylor's high profile high school teammate was!

Surprised that Jim Ryan was not included in the mix:

So really the only two they got right so far were KG and Lebron.

We can give Jabari and Harper TBD's...Bobby Carpenter had a very long, but mostly unspectacular career although he did have a studly year towards the beginning of his career that kind of teased everyone IIRC, but then I think things went back to his prior norm. Didn't know Hardy played that long in the NFL.

I'm willing to give them a "hit" on Harper. Career .900 OPS. Won an MVP award at age 22. Still only 24 and already a 4 time all star.

Well obviously I was wrong on that. Oversight on my part.
