FWIW, Las Vegas summer league stats (real-time). Thon Maker is the leading rebounder after 2 games.

Thon Maker is doing great on the boards. I know it's only 2 games, but this pick is looking better by the day.
March Madness starts in November
He has a lot of potential from a defensive and rebounding standpoint, which is what we need on this team.
So right now he can back up Monroe (assuming he is here when the season starts). Hopefully that will give him time to adjust to NBA.
Then when Monroe comes off the books, it will be time to give Giannis and Parker money, but we hopefully be in decent shape in the middle with Maker without having a big salary.
Can stream games live on WatchESPN app. If Maker is truly 19 (his baby face seems to indicate he just might be. Hammond also said they did extensive research and feel confident he is 19), this is a great pick. Agree about his defense and rebounding. Needs to get stronger in the legs and upper body. Analyst doing the game says Maker is 1 of 4 early candidates for MVP of Vegas....Booker, Dunn, Simmons and Maker.

For you youngsters, you may not know that the writer of this article, Steve Aschburner is a '78 MU grad - same year as Gato and a couple years ahead of me. I think he was the sports editor of the MU Tribune but not sure about that - Gato can maybe confirm. I follow him (Steve A., not Gato) on twitter.
That is cool. Dodds also mentioned on the Scout board that Steve was an MU grad. I enjoy his articles.
