Too young. Saw Pearl play in the Boston Shootout in the early 1980's. A magician with the ball in his hands. Not much of a shooter though. RIP, Pearl.

Loved watching Pearl play, the guy was an old school PG who dominated.

Marquette played Cuse twice, I believe, when the Pearl was there. Beat them here and lost the return game at the Carrier Dome (can't believe that place is that old!). It was fun to watch him in person.

Was the Cuse game here the one where the cheerleader was hurt?

Pearl always reminds me of Butch Lee. Butch preceded him and was every bit as good. They had similar body types--thick and strong. Seemed like Pearl got more pub because it was NY and 'Cuse and The BIG EAST.

All bias aside, I think Butch was certainly better - not as flashy though, but better on D. Agree on the body types.

Pearl was a substantive part of the Big East legacy in turning into a monster and cool conference.

That was probably my first memory of being at a Marquette game as a kid.

When I saw this, I thought Bruce Pearl died.
