    OT: High School Kids

You see a ton of kids now named Kobe and Shaq coming through the high school and college ranks. How come their isn't an influx of kids coming up named Dirk or Tim? Those two are arguably the greatest ever to play the PF position! It seems its all about flash over substance

Flash over substance? Shaq and Kobe are two of the greatest players to ever play in the NBA. Same league as Tim. Both are better than Dirk.

Furthermore they were teammates on three straight champions right about when high school kids these days were being born.

LA Lakers. The flash of Los Angeles. Flamboyant personalities.

Dirk and Tim are none of those. Shaq and Kobe are all of those.

But flash OVER substance? Shaq and Kobe were flash AND substance.

Does anyone really think its flash over substance? Laughable.

Instead of naming their kids little Dirk or little Tim their parents are naming them after people like their uncles, grandparents or with a high maintenance wife something popular like Hunter, Jackson or Jacob. There are reasons why they are giving their kids the names that they give them and those reasons are not the NBA.

Now let's look at little Shaq and little Kobe. Is it obvious enough?
