Higgins would have needed a wheel chair to continue....

Gonna miss the Higgins shuffle. And I'm gonna go against the current a little and actually say Higgins liked Buzz and had been okay to us of late.

Another official who made it all about him, and less about the game. GOOD RIDDANCE. This retirement comes way too late

Was hoping to see Burr's name on there. While he's great for the away team, the guy does way too much to make the game about him.

Agree with above, would rather have had Burr be retired.

I like Burr. THink he is one of the best. I know I am in the minority but there are many worse. I am happier that Bob Donato is finally calling it quits.

One thing I think is funny is that a lot of people just get mad at the old guys and bitch. I can't tell you how many times I was sitting on press row and could hear people screaming from the seats - "Give it up Higgins!" "You suck Higgins!" "Why don't you retire Higgins?!" When it was Jim Burr on the court.

My biggest issue with Burr is his blowing the whistle and then running in from half court to call a foul that the ref under the hoop didn't call.

With the first comment, yes you are in the minority. Burr has a temper and let's it get the best of him when he officiates. He is a bad official, in part, because his emotions get in the way. He also is just plain bad. Too slow, and thinks he is the show.

With the latter comment, I am in complete agreement.

Burr just can't keep up with the game, and definitely tries to make too many out of position calls. I also think he really gets off on getting under the home crowd's skin. That can be great if you're a road team, but rarely leads to the game being fairly officiated.
