I check this board and the other one every day and I have a serious question: when will people start discussing UWM basketball again?
Of all the concerns I have about the administration of this...
Can we just hit the re-set button on the last five years?
If true, another quality individual bites the dust.
Were prices raised $10 per game?
My God, it's just a bonanza of enthusiasm for the program right now! I mean, hold back the onslaught! Let's hope that we've reached rock bottom. Somehow, though, I suspect that we haven't.
Since it's so quiet on both boards and with the season now less than three months away, I thought this might be an opportune time to ask a question that Fran posed on the other board:
Just what...
One has to wonder what the real objectives are here. Over time, I've evolved from skeptical to suspicious.
Jimmy, wouldn't it be four sports seasons? 2013-'14, '14-15, '15-16 and '16-17? Right?
So the "future of intercollegiate athletics" is one team sports title in four freaking years?!?! As I've said before, count me out!!!!
For God's sake, don't hire a ticket manager now.
What we need are those people who fill seats at the Oscars. About 3,000 of them.
Because of our university "leadership," we have had an aggregate 74 wins over the last five years. If it had just stayed out of our way, how many would we have had? One hundred? Even more?
I just can't possibly emphasize this enough: the "golden goals" are a myth. Surely, everyone knows this by now; some simply choose not to see it. Others have selective forgetfulness.
The MVC just isn't THE VALLEY anymore.
And we'll need a couple of big men, so let's go get Kyle and J.J. and finish this thing.
Derick can help with this further, but I believe that six of the top 25 players in our post-1990 history are already on the roster. We just need to add six more.
Great news, Jimmy!
Not to nitpick, but we'll need more than one PG on the roster. I would strongly advise looking at Ricky Franklin, Steve McWhorter and Chris Hill as well.
Ronald "Boo" Davis, one of my all-time favorites, is in the fold!
Well, I see the names McCants, J. Tucker, Tiby, A. Hill and Wichmann on the list so far, but we're 27 votes behind the coveted No. 9 slot in the Midwest. So if you haven't already voted, please do...
'Heap, the challenge to the feasibility of continued D-1 athletics at UWM amidst a deficit of $11 million came on June 10 of last year in Madison and was first issued by regent Tim Higgins.
...
Serious question (and I suspect an answer for which most of us are pining to know): Will we still be Division 1 before they build a facility for us? After all, the regents have already started to...
Totally agree!
By the way, was the above footage shot at Engelmann Gym, our future home?
Wow! How do you like a post on here?!?!
Mark Mone may be quite competent in terms of advocating for a stronger partnership between the school and the community and keeping the various departments well-informed of policy, but he's failed...
I love it! Do you think that Paul Plinske would ever consider coming here after being turned away twice?
This is where I begin to think that we really need a new chancellor.
