you can watch it here....http://www.highschoolcube.com/tourna...y-young-202691
Okafor is just a monster. Simeon down by 3 at the half. Taylor has only taken 2 shots and missed them both. Tough for him to play center against a 6'10 275 pounder with great skills.
Nunn made one three and missed about 3 others by my count.
Simeon now up 8....Nunn has 10
I just saw Nunn make a midrange hanging jumpshot that reminded me of DJO. Next play Taylor had a steal, through it to Nunn, who set up Parker for a powerful dunk.
All Simeon in the 3rd quarter, Taylor has had some crucial boards. Izzo & K in the house.
I like me some Kendrick Nunn................
Hamilton is a load, needs to convert his form, but if he already has knee problems, colleges should use caution. If this announcer refers to the 4th quarter as the "money period" one more time I may lose it.
Hamilton looks like he has some serious skills for a big
Nunn is very quick
Taylor is really a team guy....never forces anything.....just wants to win.
Jim, I forgot to tell you that this is the money period.
The old NC 4 corners
Taylor having a real tough shooting night
Damn 72, he won't let that go!
Watched the whole game - Taylor was outstanding on defense against Okafor - showed great energy - denied Okafor the ball by constantly deflecting balls thrown into the post. Really played within himself and did exactly what his team needed him to do to win.
So for those who watched and have seen Simeon before, would Kendrick Nunn be a good fit at MU? Does he have point guard potential?
To answer both questions, yes, Kendrick Nunn would be a great fit for MU. Does he have point guard potential? Honestly, I still don't know.
Who won this game?
It was all Simeon in the second half.
We all know that Okafor is a beast for Whitney Young and highly touted.
Any thoughts on the 6'8" kid 2014 kid Paul White from Whitney Young? Is he in the Kevon Looney mold or does he look to be more a power forward type player?
White is defintely not a power foward type. More of a point forward. Looks very smooth although i didn't see him shoot any jumpers.
So would you describe him as a 'switchable' type?
Simeon won - pretty much dominated the second half. Taylor (for the most part) held Okafor to zero points in the second half.
Agree with the assessment, although I think they were a bit overly confident in his ball handling skills, when the Simeon guards applied pressure, he did have some trouble with it. I know he has had some injury problems, but Whitney Young also has Hamilton on top of Okafor - that is one heck of a front court.
Yeah in Buzz's system he would be a switchable since he is not a point or a big. Obviously talented but still has a few years of high school left so it's hard to know what the finished product will look like.
White and Looney are both in Scout's top 25 for the class of 2014.
I really hope we land Looney and another guy like White would probably be too much to ask.
