Jus texted my pops the same thing. Man, that's a bigger foul that we think. Hurts us on both ends. Have to imagine our shooting will cool off here a bit and to have Wilson on the low block on offense would help.

Somewhat disagree. Great hustle play that worked out the wrong way. There are dumb fouls and fouls that simply happen by chance. Can't play soft the whole half. He went for the ball and didn't realize the other guy was there. Everyone is clamorinv for someone to be aggresive and be the man. He was selling out for the ball. Unfortunate outcome of the play.

little too late of a to by buzz. You could tell we were gassed. I think he was hoping to get to the under 8 without too much damage since we only had 3 tos.

ASU is really good...win or lose boys made some progress tonight

As well as Derrick has played, he just gave up 5 easy ones to Carson. Just the way it is. Hurting without Jamil in there.

Difference between playing soft and playing smart. He did not have the angle. Play going away from him. Diving into the ground for the ball. Most times, that is a foul. That is why it is a dumb foul. Especially with 3 already. That play was not as important as staying on the court. Aggressiveness is one thing. Foolishness is another. As soon as I was him miss and go after the ball the first time, I knew he was going to pick up his 4th foul. Seen it too many times. Can't agree with your assessment or analysis.

Win or lose I think we've found our primary lineup.

G: Johnson
F: Jamil
F: Gardner.

Some freshman plays there on offense by Deonte and JuJuan. Need a bucket here. This is as optimistic as I've been about the team all season.

Agreed wholeheartedly.

This team showed some of the Marquette heart we have become accustomed to. I agree with some of the others that I am feeling much better about this team. Big step up by JJJ, DW and Jake. Add Todd and eventually Duane and the backcourt may be what we hoped it would be.

I think IWB was right to stand behind Jake. He's having a terrific half.

I'll state again the Gardner/O'Tule lineup is not working tonight. Zero flow offensively with both of them in there together.

Jake Thomas showing some remarkable onions. Well done young man to get MU back in this. Glad to be eating crow myself. This is a completely different team when him and DWill are playing like this.

ASU is a darn good team also. Very impressive.

Guess I saw it different. Thought the same thing as you initially and then thought it went for it without seein the other guy. Didn't work. Like the effort.
Hell of a game so far

really, really happy to be munching on some crow tonight with Jake and Derrick. close out boys!

Johnson has made two bad decisions tonight but that's nothing compared to Mayo's bad shot selection. I REALLY hope Johnson starts from now on. He does all of the little things Buzz looks for.

Gardner is dead tired

My biggest take away from this game - win or lose......Jamie is looking a bit scruffy. ;)

Why not run it through Gardner?

Would have liked to kick it into Gardner there and see what he could do.

Ball movement was night and day better tonight.......

I did not mind the look. Jake had an open 3 moving toward the hoop from the top of the key. Gardner in position for the rebound on the side. Just missed. Not a bad call, though.

How many shots we miss the last few minutes? Jamil missed all of his 3. Some bad shots on the fast break. Not a good last 7 seconds there.

Oh well. MU showing some life for the future.

As well as DW played today, that was a really, really questionable play. Down 2 and he drives into their shot blocker. Why?

Overall I was pleasantly surprised tonight. Buzz can build off this game! Derrick played well. Jake looks like he has a little confidence now. JJJ played well.

Really dumbfounded that DW wanted to and felt like he had to be the man at the end. Really, really dumbfounded. Too bad, he played a great game tonight.

We had a lot of chances to win that or take the lead the last few minutes. Spent a lot of energy coming back.

A loss is still a f'n loss no matter how you slice it. So they looked better. Whoopty doo. All I see is an "L". No moral victories. They better win the damn tourney this weekend now.

I don't think any is claiming that there is a moral victory here. It's a loss. However, give our recent play things seem to be turning around and you can see how things can be when they finally come together. Remember, its still pre-Thanksgiving there plenty of time to get better. And while a lot of teams are still playing bunnies we have had the balls to actually play 2 meaningful games - one of which was on the road.
