Iowa getting their way early, cutting through MU's D like its not even there. A lot of Iowa fans in the house too.
Time to go zone
Enjoying watching Iowa share the ball, MU's offense is all one-on-one.
Defense continues to suck. Too many open looks for Iowa. I suggest a 1-2-2 zone. Can't hurt at this point.
This game could get ugly
Tiurnovers, missed 3's and bad D so far
13:53 mark, MU already down 12 and MU already has 5 turnovers.
Agree with RJax, MU's offense is all 1-on-1. Is that a Wojo offense or Duke? Whole Duke's players shared the ball, K also had the philosophy of showcasing the best players.
MU also doesn't really seem to be going after offensive rebounds. Every time a shot goes up, 4 head in the other direction. Guys - your shooting percentage is poor. At this point MU has missed 8 shots, only 1 offensive board.
At this point MU is 0-8 from 3.
When is MU going to learn they have to play predominantly zone early in the season?
Add another turnover and another missed three.
You would think you could do better then 0-9 by luck
I hope Hauser is ready to play next year because we need someone (anyone) who can shoot from the outside.
I agree that the BC is a tough shooting arena, but why does every opponent shoot better than MU?
We have no point guard play. Nobody running an offense. Play Traci Carter at the point and let him learn and get experience.
Al McGuire said, "cut off the head and the body dies". Well, this team has no head to even cut off.
We appear to be a pretty bad team all around. I am very disappointed as really thought we would be better prepared. Let's hope they can make a come back somehow.
I have always been critical of radio personalities never showing to games, well there are a handful tonight, we'll see if any of them return in the near future.
Wow. There is nothing positive to take away from this.
I hope the guys are paying attention... Iowa is putting on a clinic on how to play basketball.
At the 3:07 mark....
Iowa leads points in paint 22-12
Iowa has 12 points off of turnovers, MU ZERO
Iowa has 15 fast break points, MU has 5.
We look lost, this isn't just on the players, the coaching staff is equally to blame here, the team has to be better prepared.
One positive is that I like the way Matt Heldt runs the floor, Runs it harder than Henry.
MU needs to stop trying to dribble through 2-3 defenders. Move the ball.
MU is 2-19 from 3pt.
Iowa is 7-14.
MU with 12 turnovers in first half.
As bad a half of basketball as I've seen from a MU team.
I would have had no problem losing to Iowa in a close game like Belmont, but this game was over before it barely even got started. Gavitt games are 3-3 heading into MU's game and we play like this?
Are we aware that passing is legal?
As bad as MU vandy
Imagine life without the summer trip
Never left a game early. Left at halftime. Absolutely embarrassing. What the hell is going on here?
Haven't seen any of the game as I was bowling, but just saw the score, and it must be ugly.
Marquette was completely outplayed in every facet of the game.
Iowa is good, but not that good.
Speed of the game in the first half appeared to be too much for Marquette.
Monday should be interesting. How will the team/coaches respond against LSU? Could be a turning point ... either buck up and get it done or use youth as an excuse for the woes of the team.
It is early in the season. You just got your teeth kicked in. Young players. Young coaches. I don't think this season is about making a tournament. Right now, it is about how does this team respond.
To Wojo's credit he didn't use youth as an excuse in the post game. Iowa looked like a pro team against us......they basically did anything they wanted.
Team lacks leadership and toughness. They have to play inside out as Wojo said after the game...teams are daring them to shoot 3s.
Going to be a long year I'm afraid.
@Matt_Velazquez: "I don't want to talk about being young anymore. I've seen 17-18 year olds play their butts off. Youth has nothing to do w/ tonight." —*Wojo
