Reading those unbelievable quotes from our AD my advice to every remaining player on the roster is: Run!! Get out while you can!!
What a disaster. The whole situation has me literally feeling sick.
Not to overstate the obvious, but clearly this was a planned media blitz to try to obscure the skewering she and the department were about to take in the news article. You could see they worked on that script of hers for days or weeks. And by the way, if the department had a diversity problem already when she arrived, as she claims, the solution was not to fire damn near every African-American in the department!
Sadly, Fran, The second D'Amato article was little more than a puff piece. Those backing Braun are now touting her success in raising over a million dollars this year.
I emailed D'Amato asking him if he verified those figures, or simply printed what he was given.
I also asked him how much of that money was "real" and how much was pledged and now has been withdrawn after her recent actions. Finally, I asked him how much, if any, of that amount is money donated specifically to upgrade the Panther Arena to accommodate the Wave and Admirals. (The last question may be foolish...not sure how that would work, really.)
One other question I asked him was why, if the Panther Fund is so flush, did she apparently make major cuts to many programs and shift those funds into a slush fund for the purposes of funding the buyout of RJ. I have no hard and fast evidence that this was done, but I have heard reports of her doing this from more than one source.
I will be sure to update this thread if D'Amato answers back....although I have serious doubts if he will.
She said some things she should have said immediately when the story of Jeter's firing broke, but even her attempts to convey that she understands that the players are upset come across as condescending, and therefore insincere. I notice that she never addresses the charges of sabotage at all. It's hard not to take what she says as coming from an "I'm right, and it's a pity the rest of you don't recognize it" sense of entitlement, which doesn't play well, especially since there are vocal people out there who don't think she is right at all.
Belling blasted her again today for about 10 minutes.
Just listened to the podcast, would not say blasted.
Here is an interview of Akeem and Jordan from Fox 6 last night: http://fox6now.com/2016/03/30/uwm-pl...i-was-shocked/
