    TODD FROHWIRTH NAMED HEAD BASKETBALL COACH AT MARQUETTE HIGH

    MILWAUKEE – Marquette University High School Athletic Director Bob Herman announced today Todd Frohwirth, has been named head basketball coach. He succeeds David Cooks.

    Frohwirth most recently was head girls basketball coach at Mukwonago High School where he led the varsity girls to the state championship game this past season.

    His overall head coaching record is 792-274. He’s led his teams to 20 conference championships, and three state high school tournament appearances over the years. In 2006, he was named All Suburban High School Coach of the Year. For 2012-13, he was named Waukesha Freeman Coach of the Year and his Mukwonago team won the Classic Eight Conference Sportsmanship Award.

    Frohwirth has more than 20 years of coaching experience at the high school level, including Brookfield Academy, Whitefish Bay, Pius, Messmer and Marquette High Schools. He also was assistant coach at Carroll College for the 2002-2003 season.

    “We are excited to have Coach Frohwirth join Marquette High and lead our basketball program,” said Herman. “His coaching philosophy, experience, and success will benefit our young men greatly.”

    “It is a great honor to coach at Marquette High.” said Frohwirth. “I feel at home coaching in a Catholic school doing God’s work. I love coaching basketball and developing the talents of young players. Most importantly, coaching basketball is a platform for teaching life lessons like self-respect, strong work ethic, and team play.”

    Frohwirth is a 1980 graduate of Messmer High School, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University in 1984 where he played baseball. He was drafted that same year in the amateur draft and played professional baseball until retiring in 1996. Frohwirth is currently a professional scout for the Baltimore Orioles organization.

    He and his wife, Jacque, reside in Waukesha and have two adult children. The family belongs to St. Mary’s Parish in Waukesha.
