Your Horizon League Power Poll for December 10th, 2012 and the 2012-13 season, ladies and gentlemen:
1. UIC (7)
2. Valparaiso (2)
3. Detroit
4. Cleveland State
5. Wright State
6. Youngstown State
7. Loyola
8. Green Bay
9. Milwaukee
Voting panel: Tom Mieskoski (CSU), Reggie Hall (Detroit), Brian Dickmann (Green Bay), Chris Burrows (Loyola), Josh Griesbach (Milwaukee), Lee Kolodziej (UIC), Hank Curry (Valpo), Charles Grove (WSU), Mitchell Friedman (YSU)
Fun facts:
- Valpo drops out of the #1 spot for the first time this season. UIC, which began the year at 8th.
- The Ohio schools make up the middle of the order with four points separating the Vikings and Penguins, while the Wisconsin schools are a solid 8th and 9th, although they are only separated by five points.
- Loyola may be looking up at most of the order, but they are the one with the biggest gap to lose - the Ramblers are 26 points ahead of Green Bay.
- Neither pollster voting for Valpo as #1 is a Valpo supporter.
- Milwaukee's awful week continued their drop, as they lost even more ground in the polls and settled in with 11, the third-worst number for any team this season.
- UIC's gain from 8th to 1st is the biggest move for any school, obviously.
- No pollster voted for their program above everyone else; two voters picked their team at its highest point, although they were joined in that vote by others.
- Only UIC and WSU are higher than they were in the first poll, when they were 8th and 9th, respectively.
