• Jajuan Johnson highlights Marquette Madness visitor list

There will be several highly touted basketball prospects on hand at the AL McGuire Center on Marquette University's campus for Marquette Madness on Friday. Players like the 2013 commitments....

    2013 Class Commitments

    • Deonte Burton from Vincent
    • Jameel McKay from Indian Hills CC via Pulaski
    • Duane Wilson from Dominican

There will also be a handful of top targets with players like....

    2014 Class

    • Malek Harris from Sandburg High in Orland Park, ILYoung in Chicago, IL
    • Terry Harris from Half Hallows West in Dix, NY
    • LJ Peak from Gaffney, SC
    • T.J. Schlundt from Oconomowoc, WI
    • Paul White from Whitney Young in Chicago

    2015 Class

    • Tyler Jackson from Nazareth Academy - Naperville, IL
    • Prentiss Nixon from Bollingbrook HS in Bollingbrook, IL
    • Roosevelt Smart from Palatine HS in Palatine, IL
    • Diamond Stone from Dominican HS
    • Joseph Toye from Whitney Young in Chicago

Also on hand will be the #1 recruit in the 2013 class, Jabari Parker. Parker is not considering Marquette, but will be on hand to support his high school teammate and Marquette freshman Steve Taylor.

All of those players will be on what is called an 'unofficial visit'. But not Jajuan Johnson. Jajuan Johnson will be on an official visit starting Thursday. The 6'4 SG from Southwind High School in Memphis Tennessee is one of the final targets for Buzz Williams' already stellar recruiting class, a class that is regard as one of the top 5 in the nation. Johnson is highly regarded as well, here is where he clocks in in the latest national rankings.....

    • Scout #32
    • 24/7 #45
    • Rivals #61
    • ESPN #62

Johnson has fielded offers from schools like Texas, Alabama, Miami, Louisville, Florida, Arkansas, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Memphis. Johnson is long and athletic. He can get to the rim and has a solid mid range jumper. He needs to put on some muscle, but he has the body type that defensively, will give opponents fits.

With Jajuan Johnson's trip starting Thursday, he will get the full on special treatment and get some time to bond with the members of the team, spend time meeting with the coaches and academic advisers and really get a closeup look at the University and basketball program.

A commitment on this trip should cement Marquette as a top 5 recruiting class, with a very bright future for Head Coach Buzz Williams and the Golden Eagles program.

** This is not a complete list of visitors. The lists will vary constantly until the final moments, and I will update as necessary.
