A look at the weekend ahead.....

Off Topic: Ryan Braun won his appeal from a positive drug test & 50 game suspension. In his presser, Braun was impressive, and took shots at MLB & the testing protocol. MLB blasted back saying that the mediator's decision was wrong. If they are sworn to secrecy, why are they commenting on the decision? Also, it is said that no one has ever won an appeal before. If it is all supposed to be confidential, how would anyone know if no one has ever won? MLB needs to tighten up their shop.

Bucks: All-Star Weekend so, the Bucks have the weekend off.

    College Basketball

Quick Hitter: Anyone see Lamar coach Pat Knight go off on his senior class in a post game presser? Unreal. This video is worth watching.

Marquette Golden Eagles: New analysis of Steve Taylor and Kendrick Nunn, along with a short video, is up on InsideTheAL.com

Does anyone around the country ever give Marquette any respect? Bleacher Report has the "100 Greatest Plays in College Basketball". First off, most of these are not "plays", but "performances", but why is Jerome Whitehead's tip in with no time left to put the Warriors into the title game never make any of these lists? I get that CBS doesn't mention it because it wasn't on CBS, but they had to sort out what team was headed to the title game after the clock expired, and that's not worthy? Oh, but MU does get mentioned, as Ohio State is credited for ruining their perfect season in 1971.

Great video of Buzz Williams stopping by the Bobby Huggins Show, the two obviously have a lot of respect for each other.

MU is in West Virginia to take on the Mountaineers tonight, the game is on ESPN at 8:00 central with Bob Wischusen and Bill Raftery on the call, Homer and Jimmy Mac will be on ESPN 540. Our pregame story can be found here.

Milwaukee Panthers: I like to start the weekend on Thursdays so we will start with last night. The Panthers were on the road at UIC, and despite being down at the half, started drilling a barrage of threes and ran away with it. They were led by Kaylon Williams' 19 points and 10 assists. You want post gave video and a great analysis? Jimmy Lemke has that and more, he also analyzes the Horizon League Tourney scenarios. You can find it all here, Bomb Away.

Jimmy Lemke laid the Tourney scenarios out on PantherU and the Panthers could be seeded anywhere from 3rd to 6th place. At least they finally found out that they will get a home game, and that game will be played at the Klotsche Center on Tuesday night. Nothing like the buildup to March Madness!

The Panthers will stay in Chicago, as up next they have Loyola. They take on the Ramblers Saturday at 3:00, and this will be their final Jordan Bernfield and Jeff Dickerson will have the call on WYIN(not available in Milwaukee) and Bill Johnson and Kevin O'Connor will have the call on radio at WISN AM 1130.

Loyola does have quite a few ties to the Milwaukee area. head coach Porter Moser coached under Milwaukee native Rick Majerus at St. Louis, and the Ramblers' roster includes Chim Kadima from Milwaukee Lutheran, John Benkoske from Oshkosh West and Germantown's Ben Averkamp, who was not only last week's Horizon League Player of the Week - he was also named to the National Jesuit Honor Roll.

Kaylon Williams alley-oop to Kyle Kelm was one of the Horizon League's Plays of the Week.

Wisconsin Badgers: The Badgers lost to Iowa last night 67-66, and will try to topple Ohio State on Sunday at 3:00 in Columbus, that game will be on CBS.

High School: The state playoffs are around the corner and action starts next week. Brackets can be found here: D1, D2, D3, D4, D5

Mark Miller from WisHoops picks 5 sleeper teams to keep an eye on (PPV).

Earlier this week Sheboygan Lutheran's Dekker put up 58 in a win over Random Lake and JP Tokoto from Menomonee Falls had 48 point in a win over ON THE SAME NIGHT! Here is the 360 dunk that Tokoto had.

    Have a great, hoop-filled weekend!
