Well he certainly looked the part last night, obviously only one game, but 27 points, 9 Rebs, 2 assists, and 3 steals is a real good game. It will remain to be seen if we can get that night in and night out, but Giannis doesn't need to be the star here, that is Jabari's role when we comes back, and if he can play at this level he is definitively skilled enough to be a really good second option. The real question for this team is if Jabari can be that star, if they can limit turnovers, and if they can step up the defense.

If Giannis can keep this pace up (doubtful) through the rest of this season his year 3 will blow away Scottie Pippen's year 3 stats... He looks vastly improved. Might be too early to declare this, but through his first 3 games this certainly looks like it could be the year he bursts onto the scene... Through 3 games he is averaging 23.5 ppg and 9 rpg... That will be hard to maintain, but even if it drops to 17/6 that's an impressive leap.

Great article, I think by most standards, the 3rd year is key to player having or not having it. First year, you're just trying to make it to game day. 2nd year, you catch up to the speed of the game, not consistent. 3rd year, get stronger and work on weaknesses in the offseason. Consistency is key, and given the skill set and his ability to score from a lot of spots, he should be our #1 option. There is no hesitation to his game, he's aggressive and is setting up his moves well.

His best skill is his effort and energy... You can tell he loves playing the game. Love watching him for this reason, I hope he can develop into a leader and set the tempo for this team.
