I think the LSU game will be one attended by many a pro scout. Battle between possible NBA #1 pick in Ben Simmons and our Henry Ellenson.
In this Zagsblog article some NBA scouts are comparing Simmons to Magic Johnson.

I guess we will be able to see how versatile Ellenson is right out of the gate. Should be a really fun game to watch.

Magic Johnson-like passing skills? Pfft. But how does he compare to John Dawson?

This isn't a knock on Magic Johnson, he is obviously one of the all time greats.

He is however, always talked about with his great passing skills/assists. True, we was a great passer, but when you are passing to Kareem, James Worthy, Jamaal Wilkes, Michael Cooper, Byron Scott, AC Green, Kurt Rambis, Bob McAdoo etc., don't you think there are a good number of PGs who would have put up huge assist numbers when passing to those guys?

Shame on you, IWB. You left out the guy during that era from Marquette - Mo Lucas. Clearly, he was the glue of those teams and made Kareem, Worthy, Magic, Coop, Scott and even Rambis look better than they were.

To be fair, Magic made those guys at MSU look pretty good. I was at that Final 4 in Salt Lake City where Magic took on Bird and strutted his stuff. Magic Johnson was a true magician. More so, he did a whole lot of other things as well. He was not just a PG. He literally did play all 5 positions during his career.
