Ever since Dave retired, I've been watching old Dave interviews and gags on youtube. I haven't watched the Letterman show regularly in a few years, but I used to watch him every night. Seeing these old videos of him has reminded me how much he changed talk shows and how rebellious he was.
I ran across a video of Dave interviewing Hunter S Thompson who talks about how he was at Marquette and he said that he wanted to stomp George Bush to death while he was giving a speech in the Varsity Theater and he got into trouble with the secret service. Was anyone there that night?
