Michigan State handling the zone much better than GT.

We outplayed them that half. Just need to finish those bunnies.

Really liked the way we competed in the first half......This group of players seem to be much more suited to play the zone. JJJ and Carlino especially. Sharing the ball well..made some 3s......

Team is taking fewer bad shots and for the most part valuing the ball.

Don't know f we can keep it up but that was a well played half.....our best of the season IMO

Kinda

They did early with good ball movement. Our defense made it harder on them as the half went on.

Wojo needs to give Derrick a red light on outside shooting. Those 25,000 shots this summer did not help.

Haven't heard the '25,000 shots didn't help' joke yet. Really enjoy it!

Duane needs to be on the floor. He went out with Derrick in, and the game blew open for MSU.

Defense has just fallen apart in this half. Not getting the turnovers and MSU's FG% has probably gone up.

+1

1-5 with 2 points and a bunch of 0s in the box score...he is a liability

Vitale can STFU any time now.

So Schilling didn't double dribble? OK.

The loss ball by Wilson negated the Schilling double dribble.

How does he stay employed? Don't know anyone that can stand listening to him.

If a team is going to shoot the lights out then so be it......before we were giving up layups and dunks....we made them shoot jumpers....most of them were contested...and they knocked them all down.

I really liked how we played......Duane is really growing...you can see him gain confidence.....Good to have Deonte back too.....

If we play like that we will win some games......

And add Fischer and get some size and more frontcourt depth. Think that helps Steve, Juan and Deonte a great deal.

"The tougher team lost tonight" --- Coach Izzo on #mubb

While it might be true, Izzo is outstanding at simultaneously throwing a rose to his opponent while motivating his own guys. I don't think this is one of his best teams (last year was his best team he's ever had imo, better than the flinstones), but something tells me he will find a way to make a nice run in the tourney.

Izzo can shove it with his 'tougher team lost' garbage. Damning with faint praise.

I like Izzo.....I think he was really being sincere with his praise.....he knows MU is undermanned this year...

Nonsense. He's sending a message to his own team.

Very well might be...that doesn't mean he isn't telling the truth....I thought we played harder today...so I saw the same thing....we just aren't as talented or as big

Maybe Izzo's is sending a message to his team, but he and Wojo spoke longer than a few passing comments at the game end handshake. Makes me feel he had some kind words for Wojo given the fact that the score was a lot closer than one may have thought going into the game.

I thought he might be apologizing for his players' floor slap during the run.
