Without ever having met him or really heard much about how he is doing behind the scenes, every time I see him I just absolutely love him - just seems to be a down to earth guy who can relate to others - have to imagine this can only help making connections with big donors. Now can he lead? Obviously still tbd, but I'm very optimistic we have a good one.
Women's scrimmage ended in a tie. Good move for no OT, but no round of applause? Just rushed them off the court. Then they brought out dance team. Hubba Hubba, but the black boots left big black scuff marks all over the floor.
Staff intros, place went nuts for Travis as expected.
Fire Alarms going off with the intro smoke machines on 2nd level.
Did Butch Badger just pull the fire alarm on Wojo?

MUTV announcer says he could envision Sandy Cohen playing down low and bodying up against a Frank Kaminsky. I haven't been drinking, is this really an option or are some of these guys not that informed? Kind of surprised as they've sounded pretty solid so far.
Students.....
Players came in from upper bowl, so smoke machines were up there. Set off fire alarm. Then in warmups, a player busted the rim.
What started out as a totally electric atmosphere, this is dying quick.... hopefully maintenance guy is a superhero
Skipping ahead to dunk contest. Judges are - President Lovell, Rob Frozena, Jabari Parker,
First dunk in Finals, Ellenson puts on a Diener jersey and uses Travis.....followed by Burton jumping over Fischer to dunk

New rim being installed. All the maintenance guys here and who is installing it? Strength & Conditioning Coach Todd Smith.
Happy for Deonte. Been a tough week. Wally's between the legs slam impressive.

Uniforms are new, new version is similar but has some of the blue-gold-light blue trim around the back of the neck.

Duane Wilson just looks so damn silky smooth. Obviously you can never tell anything from these games, but I'll go on record right now (maybe not necessarily out on a limb) and say he's a huge contributor for this team this year.

Now blue is Burton, Carlino, Cohen, Duane Wilson & Steve Taylor, Gold is Jujuan, Fischer, Dawson, Derrick Wilson, Ellenson & Anderson.

Pretty ragged half. On gold team pressing, guessing that is foreshadowing for the early season until Luke clears. Wojo mentioned something yesterday about having to pressure the ball to protect Steve so ball doesn't get in paint.
Duane Wilson finally starting to get on track and rolls his ankle. Still playing, but in pain.

I would think pressing would increase the probabilities of the opponent getting into the paint whereas a pack the line type of defense would prevent getting into the lane more effectively.

Burton having a rough time. Mom died a few days ago, they had a moment of silence where the entire crowd stood in silence. Team presented Deonte with a gift, Not sure what, was in an envelope.
Not a great perimeter shooting night...I am sure they are tired from an earlier PM practice. Think JJJ is 0-7 on treys. Betting on the coaches in the next segment :D
Scrapped 3 pt contest due to delay. Bummer, most people looking very forward to that.

I'd say scrap the second half of the scrimmage, as the three point contest would have been awesome.

Sandy Cohen looked good. Couple poor defensive plays, but otherwise solid. Looks like a keeper.

Impossible. All I have read from Badger fans was that he is awful.
