The @WashWizards have signed 22-year old shooting guard Vander Blue (@veezy_SQ) to a training camp contract

Glad to see Van getting another shot. Hopefully he can find a way to stick.

Hope can make the cut as well. If he does not, I think he should really look long and hard at getting a good gig in Europe. Going the D-league route is difficult and not monetarily rewarding.

and Jamil signed a similar deal with Phoenix

Just saw that and added it to the now overly long title.

@ShamsCharania: Marquette's undrafted Jamil Wilson has reached agreement on a deal with the Phoenix Suns, league source tells RealGM.

Also, Davante is leaving for France to pursue a pro career there.

Oy, Davante being around French cuisine on a daily basis. Self-discipline, big fella.

Crazy - this summer he was close to finalizing a deal with the Wizards.

Davante or Jamil?
Jamil was on the Wizard's summer league team

Yes, Wizards. He played final weekend of ProAm the first weekend in August and said he was finalizing a deal with Wizards. Also said he worked out for a crazy number of teams prior to draft, 12 or 18? Something like that.

Obviously a very productive player, but Jim, why do you think the light never turned on for Jamil to take that next step in his collegiate career?

I don't know if it is that the light never turned on or that he was just better suited for a different type of game. He is a perfect example of the description 'Happy-Go-Lucky'. Someone with that type of attitude could do well in an open court, NBA style of game whereas the college 'every possession is critical' is much different.

Some guys are great college players but just don't translate to the pros. Some are good college players that are more suited for the pro game. Jamil may just be one of those guys.
