MU's men's lacrosse team had a nice double overtime win today at St. John's. SJU has one of the top attackmen in the country and he was shut out - only a couple of assists. The win lifts the team to 2-1 in the Big East and in third behind 2-0 Denver and Nova.

I saw this squad a few weeks back when they played at Duke. They took a beating in the first quarter and came back within a few goals before they ran out of gas. This team has a lot of heart and has a bright future. They are exceeding expectations in year 2 playing a schedule loaded with top 10 teams. If they're on TV again give them a look or even watch a replay since ESPN3 can be streamed.

Amplo's doing a great job.

You're right, running out of gas is a problem since it's such a young team without much depth. If they give themselves early leads, as they did yesterday they might be able to hang on as they tire. SJU made a big push at the end but the early cushion helped MU.

I don't understand why FS1/FS2 is not broadcasting some games. I've only seen one game on FS1 this year.:confused:

I don't know why either. There have been some pretty good games involving BE teams this year both conference and non conference. And our story this season only gets better. Picked for last by the coaches before the season and now we're guaranteed a top 4 finish and a BE Tournament birth - all with a couple of games left and not having played Denver. This is a great spring story for the MU sports fan.

Not sure we are guaranteed a top 4 finish yet due to tie breakers. Think we still need another win, but I could be wrong.
