I know he gets knocked for not making the tournament, but consider this...

He took over an awful MSU team and took them from worst to first in 3 years
His 2011 MSU team were favored to go to the NCAAs but were upset in the tourney final
In 2012, he took over a UT team that lost its top-5 leading scorers and still got them to the NIT
In 2013, his UT team was one of the first four out
2014, finally makes dance and Sweet 16

All things considered, that's pretty decent. Next year might be rough, but wasn't that always expected to be the case?
