That might be enough to get them in. They get in, no way MU does, regardless of what MU does down the stretch(short of winning BE tourney).

I think the Big East will get 4 bids, but 4 is not the maximum the conference can get. I think the conference is strong enough in the power ratings to receive six bids if warranted (the lesser rated AAC and A-10 are looking at 5 apiece as it stands now). Marquette has yet to do anything to stand out in their profile, and has one final opportunity to string together four wins down the stretch to distinguish ourselves (or better yet, just win the conference tournament). I think Providence and St. John's are in similar boats (though both got Creighton), and Georgetown has been a roller coaster of good and bad.

You think so? Wouldn't MU and G-Town both be in a pool of at-large teams?

Creighton making a run though so it might be a moot point.

Sure if we string together a bunch of wins and win the conference tourney we are in, but what this season would lead you to believe that's an actual possibility?

Good for Gtown. MU has had enough opportunities to get in through their own games. They haven't put themselves in a great position so far. Bubble teams are going to be winning and losing games this time of year. No sense in worrying about any one game.

We're not getting in as an at-large, regardless of the outcome of that game.

Yeah, I am not seeing what in MU's body of work qualifies them for an at large bid.

Our at-large status will not be hurt by a GT win. More likely it will give us a better claim.

My thought exactly. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that helps our RPI?

does beating teams in top 50 weigh in on the rpi? would be nice to have Georgetown in the top 50 to give us two more wins against top 50 no?

Probably a moot point after tonight. Need to win the Big East tourney now. But yes, if GT got into the top-50, that would have really helped our profile.

Unless G-Town loses on day one in MSG, I think they belong in the tourney. They are over .500 in conference play with Trawick healthy, and would have one of better overall resumes in the field if not for Northeasten loss and sweep by Seton Hall (though Hall are not bad).
