Predictions? I'll take us by at least 7. Hope we can get good minutes for Burton and Trey J today

Has anyone read how close Duane Wilson is to returning?

great start for Otule, little sloppy for Jamil thus far

JJJ is not shy about shooting. I liked Jamil's stroke on the last 3.

Strange T on GW.

guys did you know we've got to 2 E8 under Buzz?

MUMac

Steve Taylor with a nice board and really bad TO. Follows it up with a near TO again. A lot of talent, but he plays soft at times.

I like what I am seeing from Jake today. I was very critical of his play earlier. They need him to look for his shot and be aggressive. Good to see him doing so.

cosigned, now everyone needs to stop settling for 3s

MUMac

Settling for bad shots right now. Gardner has been frustrating to watch on offense thus far. Missed a wid open bunny, struggling inside against their bigs, takes a bad 3.

AlexJesswein

Taylor hasn't looked good either. Threw away a couple passes and missed a layup

Under 12 minute TO - 19-10 Marq

Jake leading the team with 7 and a couple of 3s, Juan bringing the hustle with 5 points, 5 rebounds early. Meanwhile, Davante 0-5 from the floor thus far

Now Jamil needs to sit, with 2 fouls.

In that infamous "Jake" thread I started recently, I asked what MU could do to help Jake if he was going to play starter' minutes. Obviously he is a streak shooter who needs to get space with help from his teammates and that now seems to be happening.

I can see why the staff is frustrated with Taylor.

I haven't seen much difference in the way the team is playing/helping him. He has been more aggressive in looking for and taking his shot.

Mayo looks more comfortable today. Loved the drive right after the 3. When he brings his talents, he is tough to defend.

Offense looks much better when the 3 pointers start going in the basket....my expert analysis

True. Better ball movement helps just as much, though. And that is what I am starting to see. Shots will fall. OSU was a bit of an anomaly, to me as MU is not that bad of a shooting team. More importantly is the ball movement and assists. Mayo with two nice assists after going on his own 5-0 run.

Well, maybe the coaches are giving him more leeway than just catch and shoot? That would be the coaches helping him?

under 4 min TO, night and day offensively from 7 days prior. Initial returns from Buzz's statements last Friday are very good

No, but something has obviously changed.

No, but something has obviously changed.

Perhaps he has started to realize his role? Maybe it is on him, that he had the green light and deferred to his teammates? I don't know, but I have not seen a change in how he is used as much as in how aggressively he is looking for his shot.

Nice to see Dawson get a trey.

This is the MU team under Buzz we have come to expect. Playing with urgency and a purpose. Sharing the ball. Moving the ball around forcing rotations. Grinding it out on the boards and defense. Really like what we are seeing now since the second half of that ASU game. Well done Buzz.

Markedman

Love how this team is sharing the ball right now.....really moving the ball.....Gardner was really good after a slow start and Mayo was excellent.....

Best half of Marquette basketball to date in the young season

614

this is probably going to be Buzz's most challenging season to date in managing the roster; Trey J and Jamil have fantastic games yesterday, now it's Juan and Todd.

Got to be an even tougher team to scout against. Hopefully we can have everything clicking come March

Two weeks ago, I had no idea who this team was. Now I recognize them. As Halo says, this is the type of team tha twe have become accustomed to under Buzz. Fun to watch. I like how the frosh are being developed and used. They will be a factor on this team all year long.

Maybe the ankle injury helped Todd. Slow him down a bit. He looked to be pressing and now seems much more comfortable.

Contributions by everyone so far.

GW looks much quicker than MU this half. MU is not matching their energy, right now.

MUMac
11-29-2013, 04:07 PM
As good as MU played in the first half, they are playing poorly in the 2nd. Have created opportunities, but not finishing. The defensive rebounding, though, has been poor this half.

time to lose the "automatic" chant. Gardner has been far from this year.

The calls have really turned against MU this half. Need to play through it. No matter how uneven it may seem.

Sloppy 2nd half but a good solid win.....will need to play even better on Sunday to win this thing.

I really liked the way Derrick played today....settled the team down...made good decisions and.....he is now making his free throws!

JJJ reminded us that he is still a freshman.......ups and downs....

Jamil has got to stay on the court......can't pick up early fouls
