Prayers going out to him and his family. This puts winning a game or getting a recruit in perspective. He is an important part of the Marquette Family.

That totally sucks. Today is his birthday too! I actually passed through that intersection today around 12:30 PM. It was obvious there was a pretty bad accident there as there were still three squad cars on the scene.

Prayers to Homer. I love listening to the game when he calls it. Very sad. 10:00am and a drunk driver, wow. Sad and sickening.

Man, I'm always paranoid going thru intersections. Just never know. My sister-in-laws father got nailed like Homer. Again, prayers to Homer and family.

Have known Steve and Nancy True for 25-plus years ... since Homer started radio up in Appleton. Terrific person and great family. Prayers go out to Steve and certainly to Nancy as well.

Does this mean that Homer is doing better?

Statement from Craig Karmazin, President and CEO of Good Karma Broadcasting:
"Earlier today, ESPN Wisconsin's Steve "The Homer" True was injured in a traffic accident on Milwaukee's northwest side. I spoke with Homer's wife, Nancy, tonight. She said Homer is doing pretty well and that doctors want to monitor his condition overnight. When I was doing play-by-play years ago it was impossible to hear your partner sitting next to you without a good headset that cut out crowd noise. With a head injury Homer needs to take his time. That noise is tough enough to deal with all on its own. Listen to the doctors Homer.

Awesome news. Sometimes I listen to his calls of DJO & Crowder's dagger threes vs. Cuse to get us back to the sweet 16 when I'm feeling down in the dumps. Give me chills every time. Seems like a genuinely enthusiastic guy too. Way underappreciated.

Have heard from a few people that Homer is doing well. Mentally he is in great spirits but physically....he got beat up pretty good.

Kent Summerfeld is a great guy and will do a great job, but, no offense to Kent, Homer is Homer. Impossible to replace.
