For the president of a university with an athletic department that has had its share of issues, this guy just can't stop himself from making stupid statements about other schools.

Isn't this guy the one who ripped on small schools a few years ago saying Boise State and TCU shouldn't be allowed in the BCS games because they played the Little Sisters of the Poor not realizing that they both had tougher schedules than Ohio State?

Yep, same guy. Had to make a donation to the Little Sisters of the Poor too.

Here are a few gems from the story.

The fathers are holy on Sunday, and they're holy hell on the rest of the week," Gee said. "You just can't trust those damn Catholics on a Thursday or a Friday, and so, literally, I can say that."

Then, after being asked what his reponse would be to SEC fans who say the 14-team Big Ten can't count, Gee responded with "you tell the SEC when they can learn to read and write, then they can figure out what we're doing."

"No one admires Jim Delaney more than I do — I chaired the committee that brought him here," Gee said. "Jim is very aggressive, and we need to make certain he keeps his hands out of our pockets while we support him."

The man is clearly letting his mouth get ahead of his brain but, at the same time, I'm not sure he's not expressing a point of view (on both the ND and SEC) that many others share. Of course the academic elitism of these Big 10 people continues to crack me up. I think they're all fine universities but let's not get carried away.

I bet this ends up being his swan song. He managed to PO Catholics, Notre Dame and the entire State of Kentucky.

Don't forget he said they can't read and write at SEC schools.

This is the quote that really bugged me - he looked so squirrel-ly when he said it.

Gee was asked in March 2011 whether he had considered firing Tressel. He responded: "No, are you kidding? Let me just be very clear: I'm just hopeful the coach doesn't dismiss me." Tressel stepped down three months later.

He is such a turd.

His Ohio State Athletic Director, Gene Smith, is an ND graduate, too. Ohio State has been the #1 cheater school in the Big Ten for decades.

Eh, listening to the audio, it was clear he was joking. Depends who his audience was. I am not really offended.

In addition to insulting the south and catholics Gee also touched on Wisconsin Football.

• 14:30: “Someone was saying to me, well, you know, Bret Bielema leaving … that was a blessing for Wisconsin and they knew it. Because he was under tremendous pressure. They didn’t like him. Barry Alvarez thought he was a thug. And he left just ahead of the sheriff.”

Here is a complete recording of Gee's comments from SI.

Once again I find myself liking Rick Pitino.

Calls Gordon Gee a pompus ass and ingnorant of the facts.
