I don't disagree with him.

Demovsky is the Press Gazette's top Packer writer...and then he transitions to college basketball and the UWGB beat after the football season. And he really does a good job at both.

He respects Buzz picking him four out of five years as the top D1 coach in the state.

The only issue I have with the article is implying that Vander was a McDonald's A-A. He wasn't even close to making that game. He also didn't win Wisconsin POY that year either. Butch was Top 10 nationally (#7 or #8) and a Micky D. A-A. I'm pretty sure he was also state POY.

Vander's hype was nowhere near Butch's hype coming out of high school.

Still, I do think VB deserves recognition as best D-1 player this year, and I also agree Buzz deserves his as top coach - though obviously Badger fans will vehemently disagree.

Jim McIlvaine made the comment about McDonald's All-American and I'm not sure if he was referring to Brian Butch or Vander or both.

The other comment that they kind of screwed up was Buzz saying "He came to play for a no name coach". They are right Buzz isn't a no name coach anymore but he pretty much was when Vander decided to sign here.

That is how Bob Hurley viewed Buzz 5 1/2 years ago.
