Steve Alford. At least that's one less thing to worry about.

Does anyone know how Buzz likes New Mexico?

I haven't read anything yet. Wouldn't surprise me if New Mexico elevated their Associate Head Coach (Craig Neal) to the head job.

Alford's son, Bryce, is the top recruit this year for the Lobo's. Neal's son, Cullen, is a top recruit for St. Mary's. Wonder if both will be following their fathers if Neal is elevated.

This is the ultimate expression of unethical coach behavior. The guy signed a new contract two weeks ago. Legally permitted but this is ethically challenged. Big time coaches all think this is OK. No ethics.

Alford? Ethically challenged??? You don't say.

He has four tourney wins in 18 years as a head coach. Half of them came when he took Southwest Missouri to the S16 in 1999.

I agree with Sultan on Alford. I have never really thought of him as the model of ethics.

Umm... we just hired an assistant the exact same way. Can't blame the guy for leaving. His AD supposedly publicly said ticket increases would be going to pay for his salary.

The contract issue is just the tip of the iceberg with Alford. His interference in the Pierre Pierce rape investigation was 100 times worse.

Alford only signed a letter of agreement on his 10-year extension at UNM, not the official contract.

The truth is he agreed on a contract extension (verbal agreement) with the actual document (language) to be hammered out between attornies.

I think the letter satisfies all of the elements of a binding contract.
