Will Buzz's guys pass their Sweet 16 test on the 3rd try...?. We will soon find out. Go Warriors...!!

Nervous, anxious, yet confident.

MUMac
03-28-2013, 06:19 PM
Chris with two opportunities. He needs to finish those.

MUMac
03-28-2013, 06:23 PM
MU looks a little tight right now. Both teams do, to a degree. Getting good looks. Piquing at the lane to find the soft spot. Davante could have a big game, as Chris has had the looks, but trouble finishing.

farmerdoc
03-28-2013, 06:24 PM
Agree. At this point we look to have similar atheleticism (sp?). Not as worried about staying in front of Larkin as I was initially.

farmerdoc
03-28-2013, 06:27 PM
Vander!!! .......

farmerdoc
03-28-2013, 06:28 PM
I hate that overhead camera view

MUMac
03-28-2013, 06:30 PM
Agree doc, that angle was horrible. MU playing really good D right now. We have a shot to get out strong.

farmerdoc
03-28-2013, 06:31 PM
Nice start!! Got to love it. Keep it up.

farmerdoc

Woo Hoo!!! Way to go Jamil! I sense great confidence from the guys tonight.

MUMac
03-28-2013, 06:41 PM
They have the look in their eyes that I saw the 2nd half of Butler. Determined.

IWB
03-28-2013, 06:42 PM
Please, yes - give me more of that asinine outside camera angle! I love trying to figure out what's going on. It's like I'm sitting in the last row of the Super Dome again!

MUMac
03-28-2013, 06:43 PM
My daughter asked me if I expected the dunk by Trent. I said no, because I couldn't see the shot with the camera angle. Really a couple of bad camera's they are using.

Just an FYI for recruiting..... Yesterday I tweeted that Diamond Stone and Henry Ellenson were named to the USA Basketball U16 Team with a #mubb.

Diamond Stone re-tweeted it and Henry Ellenson favorited the tweet. You know they are watching, hopefully they see what MU can do for them!

MUMac

Chris has made some plays, but if he finished better, MU could really be on a roll.

That last series was really poor rebounding by MU. Really poor.

farmerdoc
03-28-2013, 06:53 PM
Seems like the refs are letting them play, especially on the rebounding.

MUMac
03-28-2013, 06:54 PM
When the shot clock is running down, the ball needs to be in Vander's hand. Junior with the ugly 3 and now the charge. MU has played really well defensively and is frustrating Miami. Offensively, not finishing. This could be a commanding lead right now. Keep it above 10 at the half. Under 10 and they stole the half.

Halo
03-28-2013, 06:56 PM
This is like a heavy weight boxing match with no fouls being called really. That favors us with our depth as we will wear them done you would think. Can't play stupid though.

MUMac
03-28-2013, 06:59 PM
Man, the charge call is not even. Junior gets it, play on on Miami's end.

Trent and Chris are having a ton of opportunities inside. Just FINISH!

IWB
03-28-2013, 07:00 PM
Right on the charge Mac - Trent got run over - no call.

farmerdoc
03-28-2013, 07:00 PM
Its really hard to do paperwork while I'm trying to watch the game. Very distracting. Love the first half so far. Watch the officials change up the calls in the second half though.

farmerdoc
03-28-2013, 07:01 PM
Hit your throws boys!

farmerdoc
03-28-2013, 07:02 PM
Ohhhh baby!!!!

MUMac
03-28-2013, 07:02 PM
Nice finish to the half. Come out PO'd again in the 2nd and finish this!

Halo
03-28-2013, 07:04 PM
Miami looks like a hurricane hit them!

MUMac
03-28-2013, 07:05 PM
Jim, I think that was Larkin that ran into Lockett. Should have been #3 on him. That would have been HUGE. Awful no call.

MUMac
03-28-2013, 07:07 PM
Right now, Miami is sitting outside. They are not doing anything inside at all. MU is collapsing the interior. Really playing well inside out. My favorite series was the 2 blocks by Jamil on Scott and then almost a 3rd as he missed badly.

MUMac
03-28-2013, 07:09 PM
Glad that Charles is still on the halftime show. If he wasn't, I don't think anyone else would have given Marquette any credit at all.

Halo
03-28-2013, 07:14 PM
Gottlieb appears very angry about the game so far.

Looked like Larkin hacked Otule on his rebound/make at the end. That would have been nice for his third.

MUMac
03-28-2013, 07:16 PM
Larkin did hack Otule. He also charged on Lockett. The charge is the missed call that bothers me, the one on Otule would have been called if he missed. Since he made it, they were not going to give him an and 1.

IWB
03-28-2013, 07:17 PM
Larkin should have 4 - the charge against Trent and the hack on Chris.

Here is a Sweet 16 tidbit......

Did you know that in last year's Sweet 16 run, out of the 16 teams, all went from the 2nd round win directly to the Sweet 16 except Marquette? Marquette was the only team to head home and attend class for two days before departing for the Sweet 16.

I don't know how many teams did this year, but MU players were in school Monday and Tuesday.

MUMac
03-28-2013, 07:18 PM
I prefer that they go to class. Limit the disruptions to their lives. Sleep in their bed. Game plan and practice at home.

03-28-2013, 07:21 PM
Looks like as I suspected, this is too big of a stage for Miami. At least so far. C'mon boys, 20 more minutes. Step on their f'n throats right away to start the half.

Mucrisco
03-28-2013, 07:22 PM
We need to keep feeding the post. They are fronting and offering weak side help but are not doubling on the catch. Keep up the d, get better on the boards, and withstand the run that 's sure to come. Miami isn't letting Larkin bring up the ball all the time to keep his legs fresh.

MUMac
03-28-2013, 07:44 PM
A game of 4 minutes at a time now. From TV TO to TV TO. Maintain through the under 8 and put the pressure on Miami. Jamil is really frustrating Scott when he get's to the basket.

farmerdoc
03-28-2013, 07:44 PM
Took Miami's first real shot of the game here and tstill standing with a 17 point lead and the ball. Miami will have play at a frenetic pace to speed the game up to try and get back into this. Got to keep going to the hole on them.

DCwarrior
03-28-2013, 07:45 PM
I hope they're working on breaking the press during the timeout because they're to see a lot of it for a while

DCwarrior
03-28-2013, 07:47 PM
10 more minutes

farmerdoc
03-28-2013, 07:50 PM
Good timeout. Settle them down. Start a mini run of our own.

MUMac
03-28-2013, 07:50 PM
Withstand this run. A little sloppy with the ball right now. Keep doing what they were doing to get the lead. Get a basket now to stem the run.

farmerdoc
03-28-2013, 07:52 PM
Settle down boys!!

MUMac
03-28-2013, 07:52 PM
Junior really can make bad decisions at times. He has to anticipate a trap. They are picking up their D. Can't be weak with the ball at that time.

Halo
03-28-2013, 07:52 PM
Don't like the feel of this.

farmerdoc
03-28-2013, 07:53 PM
The refs are letting it be pretty physical on those traps though. I think JR was looking for the foul on that last one.

MUMac
03-28-2013, 07:53 PM
This is the most important 4 minutes of the season right now. Keep or grow the lead through the under 4 and I will be breathing better.

Mucrisco
03-28-2013, 07:53 PM
Larranaga loves the run and jump on d. We need to be better at dealing with that.

Halo
03-28-2013, 08:00 PM
5 point swing there. Junior needs to hit that. Just hang on!

MUMac
03-28-2013, 08:00 PM
Really would have liked Junior to make the open bunny to get it to 20. That could have been a serious wound to Miami. Then they drain a 3 on transition. As I said, I want the ball in Vander's hand with the clock running down.

farmerdoc
03-28-2013, 08:00 PM
I think only 1 maybe 2 fouls in the secondhalf on Miami. they can be very aggressive until the refs start to call some of those hacks at the ball.

Mucrisco
03-28-2013, 08:01 PM
Five mins left. Hit ft's.

farmerdoc
03-28-2013, 08:04 PM
Can't believe they just called that on Davante!

MUMac
03-28-2013, 08:04 PM
Under 4 with a 19 point lead and I am nervous as he!! Let's finish. Now it is a minute by minute game. Get it under 3 with a 19 point lead and I will start to relax ... I think.

MUMac
03-28-2013, 08:05 PM
Can't believe they just called that on Davante!

Yeah, we haven't gotten the call on the hedge or when they body on the press. Weak sauce as Bill likes to say.

farmerdoc
03-28-2013, 08:06 PM
I'm still feeling some butterflys. Thank God this team seems unflappable.

MUMac
03-28-2013, 08:08 PM
Gardner really is a bad rebounder. Really bad on FT's. Can't believe how easy that put back was.

EDIT: I mean at positioning.

I know what you mean. I'm not sure I believe it myself.

MUMac

You can push someone with two hands in the back, no play on the ball and that is not intentional? Really?

MUMac
03-28-2013, 08:14 PM
O k, Verne has called it. I am starting to feel an elitist attitude!!

Buzz was really upset with Lockett on that play. Pulled him right after as well.

Love this team!! Heart and Head. A championship mentality. What a great season, and it ain't over yet!!!
